About Grace Home
Previously located adjacent to the CHRISTUS Schumpert Saint Mary Place campus, Grace Home was founded in 1996 as a 16-bed residential hospice designed specifically for care of the terminally ill. At the time of its opening, Grace home was the first community residential hospice in Louisiana. It was one of three residential hospices in Louisiana and the only one in Northwest Louisiana.
Grace Home provides 24-hour nursing care for its patients and receives referrals from other hospitals, hospices and physicians throughout the area.
In 2017, Grace Home transitioned to beautiful suites within CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center. These newly designed suites allow for a private room for the patient, complete with comfortable and beautiful furnishings, attached to a family suite. Both patient room and family suite have sleeper recliners, private bathrooms with walk-in showers and large-screen televisions. The family suite also has a sofa that converts to a bed, desk and chair, microwave, refrigerator and Keurig coffee machine. A lounge space is available adjacent to the suites. Reserved, front-row parking is available as well as valet services for families of Grace Home patients. Grace Home at CHRISTUS Highland provides 24-hour nursing care for patients end-of-life hospice needs.
The names of loved ones etched in the memorial bricks and signage at the former Grace Home on Margaret Place will remain as a lasting legacy. To further celebrate the memory of all named there, we have commissioned additional Grace Home memorials at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center that include those honored at the former Grace Home location. These beautiful, new memorials will serve as reminders of loved ones and our continuing mission of compassionate care at CHRISTUS Grace Home.
